Meet our Staff

James E. House, II,
MA, Executive Director Email: housejeh@aol.com Jim House has over 30 years of experience in the management of mental health organizations, including a total of 17 years as Executive Director of Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri. Prior to coming to MHA-EM, he had positions at Comtrea Community Mental Health Center, the National MHA and the MHA in Indiana. Jim is responsible for the overall operations of MHA-EM and personally handles advocacy. Jim spent over 30 years in the National Guard and Army Reserve and is very interested in the mental health needs of returning veterans and their families. Jim has a Master’s degree in Management.

Steve Estopare, BSW,
Associate Executive Director Steve’s responsibilities include staff supervision, Human Resource responsibilities, management functions and a continued commitment to suicide prevention and intervention skills training/education. Steve has been with the agency since July 2002. He has worked in the mental health field since 1996 with various agencies, including Comtrea Community Mental Health Center, Missouri Division of Family Services and the Family Resource Center. Steve received his Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from UM-St. Louis. In December 2008, he will complete his Master’s degree in Management from Fontbonne University.

LaDonna Haley, BSW, Program Director LaDonna has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a minor in Psychology from UM-St. Louis. She initially joined MHA-EM as a volunteer in 1990. In 1992, she spent a semester at the agency as a social work practicum student, joining the staff in 1993. She is responsible for MHA-EM’s Information and Referral services, a variety of programs for law enforcement and Dispatchers, the Self Help Clearinghouse and Directory, Speakers Bureau, and Health Fairs. LaDonna works on special projects related to community education and is also responsible for a number of administrative duties.

Darren
Stotler, BS, Representative Payee Program Director Darren graduated from Southwest Missouri State University – Springfield with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education. He began working at MHA in March 2005. Darren’s experience in the mental health field includes being a Community Support Worker for BJC Behavioral Health and for Comtrea, Inc. He also worked at the Disability Determination Section of Missouri, reviewing Social Security disability cases. In the Representative Payee Program at MHA-EM, Darren works with clients to establish monthly budgets, pays bills and expenses, and sets weekly allowances for each client. He works closely with the Social Security Administration to provide feedback and information for all payee clients.

Anita
Morrison, LPN, BRIDGES Program Director Anita attended Florida State University - Canal Zone Branch in Panama. In 1998, she received her degree in nursing and is a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Missouri. She joined MHA-EM in January 2002. Anita is responsible for BRIDGES, a statewide program for consumers. She trains consumers to be teachers for the 10-week education course, and to be facilitators for support groups. Through the program, she lets consumers diagnosed with mental disorders know they are not alone and there is hope for recovery. Anita is an Advocate with Federation of MO Advocates, and through a governor’s appointment, she serves on the Steering Committee of the Transformation Grant in Missouri.

Deborah A.
Kleiboeker, CFRE, Development Director Deborah joined the staff in March 2008. She comes to the agency after working with several local entities and also serving in a telecommuting position for an organization in Biloxi, MS, following Hurricane Katrina. Deborah has been certified with the Association of Fund Raising Professionals since 1991. She is responsible for fundraising, grant writing, special events, etc. |

Vel Edington, Administrative Assistant Vel came to MHA in 1985. She is a graduate of Augusta High School in Augusta, MO. She worked as a secretary/receptionist for a shoe company in St. Louis until she became a "stay at home Mom" and together, with her husband, raised six daughters. During that time, she served as a treasurer for her church and worked part time in her husband’s office. After his death she joined the MHA-EM staff. Her duties are assisting and supporting the staff in any and all secretarial duties.

Tiffany L. Weaver, Receptionist Tiffany is a graduate of Ladue Horton Watkins High School, with 1-1/2 years of course work at St. Louis Community College – Florissant Valley. She has worked as a Claims Specialist for Magellan Health and as an Administrative Assistant at Weaver & Associates Counseling Service. Tiffany joined MHA-EM in March 2006. He primary duties are that of receptionist and as assistant to the Representative Payee Program. |

In addition to his work as MHA-EM Webmaster, Barry is Practice Leader for Management and Team Development at the Center for Business, Industry and Labor of St. Louis Community College. |
